About Our Church
We believe there is one God who created all things. We believe God loves all people and considers each to be of sacred worth. We believe God is at work through Jesus Christ to enter into a meaningful relationship with all people. We believe that God desires to redeem all of creation. We believe that God is present with us always through the Holy Spirit who guides and directs those who trust God. We believe that God is at work in people’s lives from birth to death to assist them to become all God intended. We believe we were created to love God and one another. That love calls us to worship God and to serve each other and our community. We are a Global Methodist community of faith and affirm our heritage and theology. New Here?GiveOur Mission
WE DO:
COMMUNION (THE LORD’S SUPPER)… to remember (ICorinthians 11:24) Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross. We eat the bread representing the body of Christ and drink the juice representing His blood that was shed for us. Just as outward eating fills and refreshes the physical person, so also the eating of the bread and drinking of the juice brings the fullness of Christ into the life of a Christian. Truly, communion is a window through which God’s grace is shone into human hearts.
BAPTISM… by sprinkling, pouring, or immersion as an “outward and visible sign” of the “inward and spiritual grace” shown us by our Lord Jesus. It shouts to those around us of the incredible transforming power of God at work within us.
BIBLE STUDY… because we share “with other Christians the conviction that Scripture is the primary source and criterion for Christian doctrine/belief.” Through the Bible, the living Christ meets us.
TITHING AND GIVING… because the Scripture says “the tithe (i.e. 10{9f33f19326bab2e7bd29b745ebb67b7e2c26b291ee19d8f643050ee54ada41f9} of our income) is the Lord’s” (Leviticus 27:30). We honor God by walking in obedience. As once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” We are indeed blessed to be a blessing.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP… because God is worthy. Our religion has practical consequences for daily life and society…i.e. we do a lot of good for the community and world, but so does any civic group. So what does the church do that no other organization does? WE WORSHIP GOD! We have experienced God’s love and over-flow with a desire to return some of the love and affection which God has turned toward us. Worship is the way we act out our love…not only on Sunday morning but all during the week by the way we live out this wonderful life.
